Technology and art go together very well, as was shown by last year’s edition of the Inventors’ Competition. In the fifth Inventors’ Competition, the students again face the challenge to combine technology and art. Tomorrow we will start our kick-off tour of all participating institutes. For the universities, this marks the start of the preparations for this annual event.
This year’s assignment is to design and build an app-controlled ‘Robotic artist’ that makes a 3D work of art of freely selected materials. The 3D work of art must be tangible and lasting. The prize money available is 6000 euros. The works of art created will be auctioned and the earnings are for the students. The winning works of art get a place of honor in ICD’s Shared Facility Center in Drachten.
On June 14, theater De Lawei in Drachten is the center where high potentials in technology show their invention to the world. Everyone is welcome to come to this event. An expert jury assesses the presentations and live demonstrations. The universities present themselves.
